Largest of the American cats, the Jaguar is a solitary animal. Living in forest or savanna, this beautiful cat can climb or swim with ease. Due to the vast territory this species covers, many sub-species have developed with well-defined territories. Endangered because man hunts them for their skins, it is still legal in some South American countries to kill them.
